Alarm Upgrades Is your alarm panel over 10 years old? A large ugly box, key operated? Why not upgrade to the new Secure One Euro Meridian, the most user-friendly control panel ever. It requires no codes or keys and can be set and unset by swiping a small tag device across the keypad. Codes can be used if required, but the tags make life so easy codes are usually seldom used. The panel also incorporates a feature known as Intelligent Setting, so whether you’re leaving the house or going to bed you need only swipe your tag across the keypad. Most intruder panels require additional button presses to partially set certain zones (e.g. bed time set) whereas the Euro Meridian monitors which movement detectors you pass through and sets itself accordingly. For example, if you leave via the front door, the system sets fully. Go to bed, and in doing so you activate a first floor detector, the system partially sets. In addition, the Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) shows written English text rather than just illuminating LED's, and it’s much clearer to read ‘Cannot set Kitchen detector’ than an illuminated fault light. The panel also contains an event history for you to interrogate that shows dates, times, names in English of events such as setting, un-setting, activations etc. All this and the ability to send SMS text messaging to your mobile phone (optional extra), it’s little wonder that it’s an industry award winner. New Alarm Bell Box The new Secure One bell box has an elegant slim shape that would complement the exterior of any house. It incorporates the very latest technology, twin alternative flashing red warning LED’s for visual deterrent plus large visual strobe light and an anti-tamper device back and front for added protection. Smoke or Carbon Monoxide Detectors Every year there are 60,000 fires in the home resulting in over 11,000 injuries and nearly 500 deaths (Home Office figures 1999). Many of the deaths or injuries could be prevented if people had an early warning and were able to get out of the property in time. Carbon monoxide is the invisible killer - it can’t be seen or smelled. Fitting a smoke detector to your alarm system will not just give you that early warning, but could save lives. A smoke detector connected to your intruder alarm instead of a stand-alone battery unit has a number of advantages – firstly, there is no need to worry about replacing batteries every year and in the event of a fire whilst you are out and the alarm system is set, it will activate the external bell, giving an early indication to neighbours and key holders. Speechdiallers Fitting a Secure One Speechdialler will allow your alarm system to contact you anywhere in the United Kingdom. The Speechdialler is the perfect addition to any security system ensuring that you, your relatives, neighbours or friends are immediately notified the minute the alarm system is activated. The device connects to your normal telephone line and will contact up to four telephone numbers; either land lines or mobile phones, and can be set to ring until the call is acknowledged. If there’s no reply the dialler will keep going until it is acknowledged. And unlike a fully monitored alarm system there are no additional annual fees. SMS Text Messaging (optional extra) The award winning Secure One Euro Meridian control panel can also send SMS (Short Message Service) text messages direct to your mobile phone, alerting you instantly if the alarm goes off, or has been operated. Varying messages can be set up and sent on occurrences of different events, for example: • Identify a specific person turning the alarm off, for instance a teenage child returning from school message: 'Laura has arrived home' • Intruder alert message: 'Home alarm activated 12:03' • Fire alert message: 'Smoke detector in lounge activated' • Keep an audit of keyholders to your alarm, message: 'Cleaning lady has unset system 13:05' Pet Immune Detectors Technology advances in intruder alarm detection have lead to the introduction of Pet Immune Detectors. No more shutting the cat or dog away in an unprotected room or even not setting the alarm. The new pet immune detectors can easily replace existing detectors and be immune to pets up to 70lb but still activate the alarm system in the event of an intruder.
